We live in a society where a certain "look" is considered beautiful. Everyday I question this kind of beauty and what makes us want to be a part of a society that approves of alienating people based on their looks.

Fashion magazines and television shows teach, while friends and family members learn, how to judge each other based on what is shown on the outside of the body instead of what is inside. Recently, I began accepting donations from friends and family members to start a project that would help me challenge society's view of beauty. I wanted the project to be affordable, to teach me something, and to be unique.

I decided to make dresses out of disposable materials that would radiate their own beauty and strength, much like humans. Each of these dresses are individuals, made from different items to showcase their inner beauty, that can only be seen by looking past the items that were used in its creation. I want people to understand that beauty is much more than skin deep and that even though these dresses are not made of pretty and conventional things, you can always find beauty in them, even if just for a second.
