Human Trafficking, a gentle title for sex slavery, is a problem that is exists everywhere. I heard Christine Caine speak about her experiences as a victim, and this is where it all started for me. I'd never had such a stir in my soul. I'd never been so alive to the realization that life could be so much worse for me.

Sex trafficking is a $32+ billion dollar illegal industry. It is unknown the exact number of slaves there are held captive, but what we do know is that there are more slaves today than in the time of the Civil War, and it is no longer a "foreign" idea. Slavery is happening right here in the Central Florida area, controlling the lives of over 20,000 men, women, young children, tourists, etc.

My intention with this project is to open the eyes of an incredibly sheltered audience. I've created this series of images that reveal a more truthful aspect of sex slavery contrary to the "easy on the eyes" photographs you might see representing this sickening epidemic. I hope to raise consciousness to the fact that it could be anyone.

It could have been you.
