Program Requirements
The UCF Undergraduate Catalog provides information about degree requirements and course descriptions. SVAD Advising also provides a flowchart-style PDF document to help visualize course prerequisites.
Remember that your degree requirements are always listed in your UCF Degree Audit that is available in MyUCF.
Also remember that although your degree audit requirements are determined by your catalog year, course descriptions and prerequisites may change yearly.
The School of Visual Arts and Design offers both Art BA and Art BFA Studio Track degrees. The similarities and differences between the Studio Track BA and BFA are listed below:
Differences
- BFA is more credit hours - BA is less credit hours
- BFA students need to maintain a 3.0 GPA average in ART courses to enroll and stay in - BA students do not only need to maintain the 2.0 GPA average that the university as a whole requires
- BFA students choose one specialization to master - BA students choose from multiple specialization areas
- BFA students must complete a BFA Exhibit/Seminar course - BA students don't
Similarities
- All junior-level students must complete the mandatory ART3950 - Portfolio Review before enrolling in upper division ART courses.
For all the details, please consult the UCF 2011-2012 Undergraduate Catalog links above.
