Digital Media - Visual Language and Interactive Media, M.A.
The Master of Arts in Digital Media - Visual Language and Interactive Media focuses on the development of advanced skills for digital media professionals. The M.A. is a more generalist degree, appropriate for students looking to sharpen their skills and increase their understanding of digital media as applied to interactive art.
Emerging Media, M.F.A.
The Master of Fine Arts in Emerging Media program offers tracks in Studio Art and the Computer and Digital Media, and Entrepreneurial Digital Cinema, providing students an opportunity to inform and enhance their artistic practice using twenty-first century media and technologies in new ways. The M.F.A. is a terminal scholarly and creative degree suitable for those students wishing to pursue careers as professors in higher education or as creative leaders in industry.
The Digital Media track emphasizes digital media research and development focusing on new forms of interactive media and the creation of story-driven content for them. The Studio Art and the Computer track emphasizes the creation of studio art using contemporary, electronic tools.
The Entrepreneurial Digital Cinema track provides students with a unique education in the theory and practice of low budget (i.e. < $50K) digital motion picture production; training students in conceptual and theoretical skills through class work, research, and the production of a feature length motion picture.
