Before coming to the University of Central Florida in 1970, Dr. Gaudnek taught at universities in Los Angeles, CA, New York City, Long Island, and Ohio. He is the founder of the Long Island University Art Museum in Greenvale, L. I. His Honors include the Professional Excellence Program (PEP) award, (UCF), 1997, and the Teaching Incentive Program (TIP) award, (UCF), 1995, Sudetendeutscher Kulturpreistrager, Bildende Kunst und Architektur, (Ger.), 1994, Professor Phi Kappa Phi, 1991, Distinguished Researcher of the Year, (UCF) 1990, & Fulbright Scholar 1957.
His exhibitions include participation in more than 200 solo and group exhibition, Labyrinth Installations, happenings; performances in Germany, Italy, Spain England, Colombia, Czech Republic, and the U. S. His works have also been exhibited in museums in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Virginia, Arizona, Florida, Europe, and Brazil. Dr. Gaudnek's numerous public and private collections have been acquired for Schools, Banks, Office Buildings, Libraries, Theater Lobbies, Museums and Private Homes in Europe and the U. S. His extensive Media coverage in Europe and the U. S. include feature T. V. documentaries in San Francisco, New York, Munich, Sao Paulo, and Paris. He bases his teaching philosophy with accent on the individual.
Dr. Gaudenk has been awarded the University of Central Florida Presidents Award (1999), the Research Incentive Award (2002), and the Teaching Incentive Program Award (2005).
