Terrell holds a B.A. in Environmental Design from Purdue University, and a M.S. in New Media Arts and Sciences from Indiana University. He moved to Orlando from his home state of Indiana in 2006 when he began teaching for the University of Central Florida’s, School of Visual Arts and Design. His specialty is in 3D modeling and animation, digital painting and visual effects.
Along with his career in teaching, Terrell has been running his own creative development studio since 2001. He has developed 3D and 2D environments, animation, motion graphics, visual effects and graphic design for companies such as The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Walt Disney World, 3M, Tempus Resorts International, Lockheed Martin, SAIC, and Convergence as well as interactive simulation companies, major advertising agencies, architecture firms, resorts and health care manufactures.
As a fan of Star Wars, one of Terrell’s most enjoyable projects was working for Rocketship Films as a visual effects artist for the award winning film, "Makazie One", a film set in the Star Wars universe during the time period between Episodes III and IV. "Makazie One" won Best Cinematography at the 2010 Star Wars Fan Movie Awards presented by Lucasfilm and Atom at Celebration V in Orlando.Terrell's creative and research interests are in the area of evolving the immersion experience in real-time interactive environments between humans and virtual environments, as well as the creation of a more engaging experience for the player or trainee in a virtual world through psychological adaptation in computer controlled characters.
